The Cleveland Cavaliers’ franchise-best season continues.
The team is inching closer to the playoffs, and, barring a shocking turn of events – or a disaster – they should have homecourt advantage through the Eastern Conference postseason at the very least.
Kenny Atkinson’s team has excelled on both ends of the floor this season, especially on offense.
Notably, they came out firing after the All-Star break, and their numbers in February were some of the best in the league.
As pointed out by CavsMuse on X, they ranked No. 2 in points per game (122.9), field goal percentage (49.8%), and net rating (11.3).
They also ranked No. 1 in offensive rating (122.3) and three-point field goal percentage (39.4%).
Cavs team rankings through February:
Points Per Game: 122.9 (2nd in NBA)
Field Goal Percentage: 49.8% (2nd)
3-Point Percentage: 39.4% (1st)
Offensive Rating: 122.3 (1st)
Net Rating: 11.3 (2nd)Their offensive rating would be the best in NBA history ‼️#LetEmKnow pic.twitter.com/vtcpYq4hfJ

If that wasn’t impressive enough, that offensive rating would be the best in NBA history for a full season.
The Cavaliers have had the best record in the league for most of the season, yet some people still don’t take them seriously.
Good teams peak early, but great teams are able to sustain that level of play when it matters the most.
We’re entering the final stretch of the regular season, and the few moves the team made have only made them better.
The team is just a couple of wins away from mathematically ensuring that they will be in the playoffs.
They’re almost 40 games above .500, and they’ve dominated some of the best teams in the league.
They still need to prove themselves in the postseason, but there are more than enough reasons to be optimistic about this team right now.
