The Cleveland Cavaliers fell, again, to the New York Knicks on Thursday night, dropping into a 2-0 hole in the Eastern Conference Finals and getting even closer to the end of their season. Following the game, big man Jarrett Allen spoke with Ashly Holder and the rest of the press about what went wrong for the Cavs.
He believes that something needs to change, and started by expressing how the actual movement on the floor needs to be tweaked.
“Sometimes I feel like we should just go set the pick. Stop waiting for a play, stop waiting for somebody to call us up, and just run the offense ourselves. Not necessarily taking the ball and bringing it up the court, but initiating the offense by going out and setting a screen out of the blue,” Allen said.

Allen went on, talking about how “getting away from the process” is hurting the Cavaliers, and agreed that he and Evan Mobley need to speak up more and lead the team in the ways that they can.
This team is filled with great players, but it’s not coming together in the right ways when everything is on the line.
The Cavaliers didn’t have the same fire they brought to Game 1, which is very concerning for fans. The Knicks, once again, seemed to have their number and didn’t suffer nearly as many problems as they did during the opening match. Their 109-93 victory was healthy and well-earned.
Adjustments are mandatory at this point. The series is headed to Cleveland now, which should bring the Cavaliers some relief. But this sort of deficit is hard to come back from, and most teams aren’t able to pull it off.
If the Cavaliers have any hope, they will have to look at their schemes and figure out how to work them better. On top of that, they will have to address their leadership and chemistry so they can finally get a win over New York. If they don’t make these changes soon, the series is just about over.
Coming back from 2-0 is hard, but coming back from 3-0 is basically impossible.
