The Cleveland Cavaliers welcomed back a familiar face this offseason.
Larry Nance Jr. is home and more than happy to help.
That’s why, though he’s not as talented as Evan Mobley, he wants to boost his new teammate’s development and contribute to his growth.
Nance recently gushed about Mobley’s potential because he’s seen it firsthand, and he thinks he can help him take his offensive game to a new level.
“I don’t necessarily have to buy into [Evan Mobley’s potential], I’ve played against him. I wasn’t fortunate enough to play with him. I was on my way out when he was on his way in. Getting to play against him, yeah, he’s a force. He’s someone you’ve got to really keep track of. I would hope that I could get more out of [him] is being just more demonstrative. Our careers are drastically different, but one thing we share similarly is look, my offensive motivation was something I learned later in my career, and maybe that’s something that I can help him learn early in his career. My man is just awesome, but little tidbits here and there would really be welcome,” Nance said, via Mack Perry.

For years, fans and analysts claimed that Mobley was the team’s X-factor, and they urged him to be more aggressive on offense.
Last season proved that they were right.
While his averages were similar, he became a much more aggressive and complete scorer in the first season under head coach Kenny Atkinson.
He has put in the work on his handles in the offseason, and he’s reportedly going to be asked to put the ball on the floor and lead the break next season.
Mobley showed what kind of disruptive defender he can be, and he should continue to be one of the strongest forces in the NBA for years to come.
However, unlocking new layers of his offensive game is what could turn him into a legitimate superstar.
