Jarrett Allen was a huge part of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ win over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.
The big man had a big score, earning 16 points and 20 rebounds on the way to a 110-97 victory.
OptaSTATS dug into the numbers and discovered that Allen is the only player since the NBA-ABA merger to have a 20-rebound double-double while playing 25 minutes or less.
Allen was on the court for 24 minutes and 47 seconds which means he just barely made it under the 25-minute threshold and earned a place in league history.

Allen did all of this in less than 25 minutes, which is absolutely astounding.
Grabbing 20 boards during any game is wild, but doing it while playing for less than 25 minutes is worthy of very special praise.
Allen has been on fire with his rebounds this season, averaging 10.5 per game.
It doesn’t matter which team he is playing against, Allen will make it his mission to grab the ball, make easy buckets, and shut down opponents.
Just last season, some Cavaliers fans were questioning the combination of Allen with Evan Mobley.
They felt that the two players weren’t working well together and one of them should be traded.
But the Cavaliers’ front office stuck with the squad they had and that is now clearly the right idea.
Mobley and Allen have never looked better together and Cleveland’s frontcourt is downright terrifying to most opponents.
Allen is a quiet player and someone who doesn’t get as much attention as other big men in the league.
But this stat from Thursday night shows that he’s a remarkable player and someone who should never be taken for granted or counted out.
