The term “superteam” has been thrown around a lot in the NBA and some people have very negative feelings about it.
There are certain fans who hate the idea of a team cobbling together superior talent in order to win a championship, while others think that it is just part of the game.
A clip shared by LoonMuse on X shows Kevin Love admitting that the 2015-17 Cavaliers were in fact a superteam “expected to go to the Finals.”
A lot of people agree with Love, but his stating this will create conflicted feelings.

The Cavaliers looked incredible at the start of the 2015-16 season.
They had Love as part of their strong frontcourt, along with Channing Frye and others.
Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James were running the show and leading the team to new heights.
There were huge expectations for the Cavaliers, like Love said, and winning a championship was their ultimate goal.
They succeeded there and came back from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals to beat the Golden State Warriors.
Their run is still considered one of the most amazing of all time and the Cavaliers hold a special spot in league history.
At the time, some people felt it wasn’t fair because the front office had worked hard to match James with Irving and Love.
The roster didn’t naturally and organically grow but was put together through trades and smart moves in the offseason.
Regardless, they reached their goal, but only once.
A few years later, the superteam Cavs had been disbanded, showing that these kinds of squads don’t last forever.
So while some people may have issues with them, they should rest assured that superteams are not invincible.
