Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t see a lot of Isaac Okoro in 2024-25.
He didn’t play as much as in seasons before, but still attempted to make his time on the court count.
Now, the Cavaliers are determining what’s next for Okoro, and Chris Fedor recently reported on other teams’ interest in him.
Reporting for Cleveland.com, Fedor said that teams aren’t leaping at the chance to get Okoro.
“From everything that I’m told, they’re having a hard time finding anybody that has legitimate interest in Isaac Okoro, unless Isaac also comes with some kind of sweetener from the caps, some kinds of assets attached to his contract,” Fedor stated.
He averaged 6.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 46.4 percent during his 55 games in 2024-25.
Those numbers were all a dip down from what he did in the season before, when he posted 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.
It sounds like the Cavaliers would be open to the idea of cutting ties with Okoro, but that isn’t possible if other teams aren’t picking up the phone and calling.
Unless Cleveland also wants to add some sweetener to the deal, they are probably going to have Okoro in the lineup next season.
The Cavaliers are in a tough position right now, having to juggle multiple big contracts and smaller ones from bench players like Okoro.
Handling this situation incorrectly could cause the Cavaliers to fall behind.
After such a great regular season, fans want to see Cleveland get even better next year.
Can they do that with Okoro, or can they find another team that would want him?
