The Cleveland Cavaliers weren’t their usual efficient self on Sunday afternoon.
Kenny Atkinson’s team took 40 three-pointers, but they only knocked down ten of them (25%).
They let their lead slip right through their fingers in the second half of the contest, and the Orlando Magic snapped their 16-game winning streak with a five-point loss.
Following the game, Donovan Mitchell claimed that he didn’t want to take anything away from what the Magic did.
Nevertheless, he also believes that they had a couple of tough breaks with some shots that should’ve gone in, even though the team’s shot selection and turnover issues took a big toll on their chances as well (via Daryl Ruiter).

The former Utah Jazz combo guard also claimed that the team had to be better, but given the way they’ve played this season, he’s also pretty confident that they will bounce back from this.
Notably, this was just the Cavs’ 11th loss of the season.
They had a chance to tie their best record in franchise history with a win on Sunday, but they still have 15 more games to do so.
They’re currently on pace to win 68 games and finish the season with the best record in the league, which would give them a homecourt advantage through the NBA Finals.
Of course, they would have to get the job done in the playoffs as well, but they will have plenty of time to make the necessary adjustments and fine-tune their machine for when it counts.
In the meantime, the rest of the league will have to continue grinding to make the playoffs.
