It’s been a wild ride for Darius Garland in the NBA.
He entered the league with high praise but limited experience, and his career has been somewhat of a roller coaster.
He wasn’t able to sustain his All-Star level last season, struggling with injuries and slightly regressing.
That’s why, now that he’s bounced back and gotten back to the big game, he’s made a strong revelation about what he’s learned about himself (via Leah Doherty).
“I’m a soldier,” Garland said.

There were plenty of rumors surrounding Garland in the offseason.
The former lottery pick was rumored to force his way out of Cleveland if the team signed Donovan Mitchell to a contract extension.
While there were no signs of a grudge between the two, reports suggested that his camp believed he would fare better elsewhere, where he could play as the sole lead guard and enhance his game.
Fortunately, the Cavaliers never listened to those rumors.
They had a vision, and they stuck to it.
Now, under coach Kenny Atkinson, Garland has taken a huge step forward.
While his numbers might not pop out, it has everything to do with the way the Cavs have shared the ball on offense.
Garland has been much more aggressive in getting to his spots this season.
He continues to showcase an elite court vision.
While he’s never going to be an elite defender, he’s also making a strong effort on that end of the court.
