Martin Luther King Jr. Day has become one of the biggest moments in the NBA schedule.
It’s a day when the league recognizes the greatness of King, celebrates civil rights and equality, and also pits some of the best teams against each other.
In the upcoming season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have earned their place in the MLK schedule, and they will play against perhaps the squad in the association.
The NBA announced that the Cavaliers will face off against the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder on MLK Day.

They will be the second game that day.
Before them, it’ll be the Milwaukee Bucks versus the Atlanta Hawks.
After the Cavs/Thunder game, the Dallas Mavericks will take on the New York Knicks, and the Boston Celtics will square off against the Detroit Pistons.
It is sure to be a great day and one that Cavaliers fans should look forward to.
Why are the Cavs battling the Thunder?
It’s probably because these were the best teams in their respective conferences last season.
Last year, their games against each other were some of the most-watched of the season, and everyone tuned in to see the best of the West and the East butt heads.
Will these be the top seeds in their conferences when MLK Day rolls around?
Understandably, the Cavaliers are currently seen as underdogs in this match because the Thunder are the league’s champions.
But a lot can change between now and January 19, and the odds may shift dramatically.
No matter what happens, a lot of people will be watching this game, and the Cavaliers will have a chance to show their supremacy to millions of eager fans enjoying their holiday.
