The Cleveland Cavaliers have won their last ten games.
More than that, they’ve won all of them by at least ten points.
StatMuse pointed out on X that they have the second-best record in the league since Christmas (5-0), trailing only the Oklahoma City Thunder (7-0) during that span.
Best record since Christmas:
7-0 — Thunder
5-0 — Cavs
5-1 — Pistons 👀 pic.twitter.com/9SpVsD34Dz— StatMuse (@statmuse) January 7, 2025
It’s been almost a month since the Cavaliers last failed to beat an opponent by less than ten points.
That’s the longest streak in franchise history and the best active streak in the NBA.
Sitting on a league-best 31-4 record after 35 contests, Kenny Atkinson’s team looks like a legitimate threat to go the distance and win the whole thing this season.
Of course, some continue to doubt them, mainly because small market teams rarely get the credit and exposure they deserve.
The league often chooses to broadcast teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, or Golden State Warriors, even when they’re struggling, as they have this season.
Even so, the Cavaliers aren’t too bothered about that.
If anything, they continue to put their heads down and get to work every single day.
There’s still a little over half of the season to be played, and they know the most crucial stretch of the season is just ahead of them.
As such, they cannot allow any distractions to get in the way, and they definitely can’t afford to get over their heads despite their great record.
This team has a chip on their shoulder, and that’s what makes them dangerous.
