Not long ago, Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks went toe-to-toe with LeBron James in the Eastern Conference.
Whether with the Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavaliers, they knew they had to get past James to win a championship.
That’s why Anthony was livid when he found out that his team had agreed to a deal with the enemy, sending Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith to Cleveland.
In the latest edition of his 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast, the future Hall of Famer admitted that he was angry at the Knicks for seemingly giving up on him and helping LeBron James out.
“When it happened, the only thing going through my mind is Bron,” Anthony said.
"Do y'all know what the f**k you just did? Y'all gon' send them to him?!"

The foundation for the Cavs was officially set to win a championship after making that trade.
Anthony wouldn’t be in New York for much longer.
His run-ins with Phil Jackson ultimately led him to the Thunder, thus beginning the final stretch of his career.
As for the Cavaliers, Shumpert and Smith became foundational pieces and key glue guys alongside the Big 3.
As Anthony predicted, his lifelong friend and colleague from the class of 2003 had won the chess match, and the Cavs won a ring.
