The Cleveland Cavaliers have been through this before.
They win games in the regular season, and then their stars are nowhere to be found come playoff time.
Once again, fans are urging the team to break up the roster and find other pieces to get into contention.
However, as much as analyst Matt Fontana can understand that logic, he doesn’t necessarily agree with it.
“Do I want this exact team run back? No, but I’m also not just giving away pieces. If something comes that is worth it, you do it. … Say Koby Altman gets something, and he is truly 50-50 split right down the middle. ‘This kinda works, this might make sense.’ Just seeing what I’ve seen, I would just give a tip to do it,” Fontana said.

Altman has been quite vocal about his confidence and support for this group of players, so the front office leader is not likely to move them unless he gets some value in return.
The executive talked about a need to add more mental toughness to the team, and that might be seen as a shot at Jarrett Allen or Darius Garland, who have earned a reputation for struggling against physical players and disappearing in the clutch.
To be fair, the Cavs did win 64 regular-season games with this group and looked like a legitimate NBA championship contender when they were at their best.
But it takes much more than talent and chemistry to win.
As talented as these players are, they have to prove that they want it as much as their opponents do, if not more.
