The NBA recently released the official schedule for the 2025-26 season, and fans have been digging into it and making plans for the months ahead.
They have also made predictions about who will be the best in the league.
Writing for Bleacher Report, Andy Bailey said that the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to have a strong regular-season record in the new year.
He agrees that they haven’t made massive moves, but it should be enough to get them back to the top of the Eastern Conference.
“57-25,” Bailey predicted. “Going from Ty Jerome to the oft-injured Lonzo Ball may not equate to seven fewer wins on its own, but the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2024-25 season may have been a bit of an outlier, and 57 wins is still a heck of a campaign. Spoiler alert: That’s enough for Cleveland to handily top the Eastern Conference in this predicted universe. The Cavs should be a regular-season wins machine for the second year in a row, thanks to a loaded starting five, with four All-Star-caliber players in Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. And because Garland and Mobley are 25 and 24, respectively, it’s reasonable to think there’s still some room to grow.”
The Cavaliers didn’t change much, but maybe they didn’t have to.
Lonzo Ball could bring a lot to the team, although his history of injuries certainly raises some concerns and more than a few eyebrows.
The losses of Ty Jerome and Isaac Okoro also worry some people.
But the team still has a strong core, and there is every reason to believe they can be the greatest in their conference, especially with such big injuries affecting the East.
A few of Cleveland’s biggest players, such as Evan Mobley and Darius Garland, are angling to have their best seasons yet, which could help propel the team forward in a huge way.
They were already the best in the East last season, but could they be even better this year?
