Earlier this season, Ty Jerome of the Cleveland Cavaliers was looking like the league’s Sixth Man of the Year.
But for his last game against the Indiana Pacers, he didn’t resemble that at all.
Jerome had an off night against the Pacers, but he was honest with Evan Dammarell, stating that his approach isn’t going to change.
āI usually make those shots eight or nine times out of ten. It just happens sometimes, man,” Jerome said. “Iām the same person and Iām going to go out there and stay in attack mode.ā

Jerome scored only two points during the Cavaliers’ Game 2 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
He was just 1-of-14 from the field and 0-of-4 from the three-point line.
In the game before, he scored 21 points, so that is quite the difference.
During the 2024-25 season, Jerome averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
If the Cavaliers are going to stay alive in this series, they will need Jerome to perform like that for the remainder of the games.
Everyone in the NBA experiences shooting slumps at times, but it’s how a player bounces back from them that matters.
Will Jerome’s approach work, and will he be able to naturally shake off the rust?
That is the hope because the Cavaliers are down a few stars, and they need all the help they can get.
Now is not the time for one of their most reliable shooters to hit a rough patch.
Friday night will give Jerome and the rest of his team a great chance to show what they are made of and what they can achieve, even in the face of real adversity.
Will they capitalize on that chance?
