The Cleveland Cavaliers are having their best season in franchise history.
That’s a lot to say, considering we’re talking about a team that had LeBron James in two separate stints for a grand total of 11 seasons.
However, even though this team is on pace to shatter every mark from the James era, and it’s arguably more entertaining to watch, they still have to win an NBA championship like James did in 2016.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith admitted that he wished for the Cavs and Los Angeles Lakers to meet in the NBA Finals.
Talking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” he claimed that he would love to see LeBron and Luka Doncic reaching the ultimate stage, but he would also love to see the Cavs trying to stop James from winning a championship.
"LeBron James going to Cleveland trying to prevent Cleveland from capturing an NBA championship. … That would be epic." 🍿

The Cavs have had the best record in the league for the entire year, while the Lakers are No. 4 in the Western Conference and don’t have much depth at center.
Even so, Smith claimed that James and the Lakers were already battle-tested in the playoffs, which is why he liked their chances against anybody.
The Cavs, on the other hand, still need to prove themselves in the postseason, says Smith.
That makes sense, but as proven as James is after the regular season, he’s also lost six out of ten times in the NBA Finals, so it’s not like he can’t be beaten on the biggest stage.
