The Cleveland Cavaliers are hot, riding a six-game winning streak and holding an NBA-best 27-4 record.
Of course, Donovan Mitchell and Kenny Atkinson have gotten most of the credit.
Yet, Evan Mobley has had plenty to do with their success.
Mobley has been on a team over the past eight games, averaging 21.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.3 3-pointers made per game, via StatMuse.

He’s done that while shooting 65 percent from the floor and 60 percent from beyond the arc.
That red-hot shooting from downtown has taken his season rate to 43.7 percent, which is significantly higher than the rate he made in his first three seasons.
Mobley’s aggressiveness and new-found confidence have been perhaps the biggest story of the season for his team.
He looks more in control of his body, and it seems like the game is finally slowing down for him on offense.
He’s putting people on posters, taking and making shots from mid- and long-range, and he’s demanding the ball down the stretch, none of which he did in the earlier stages of his career under head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.
Mobley’s development was always considered something that could potentially make or break this team’s chances of going the distance.
Now, he’s playing at an All-Star-caliber level, and with the Cavaliers winning 27 of their first 31 games, it’s almost impossible to make a case for him not being named to the showcase game this season.
