For the first time in franchise history, the Cleveland Cavaliers have won ten consecutive games by at least ten points.
Winning isn’t easy in this league, and it is much less easy to do it by double digits.
It’s been almost a month since the team last won by less than ten points, and they’ve been utterly dominant during that stretch.
The streak began on December 13.
A post by Cavs Notes on X shows that they’ve even blown out some of their opponents by 20+ points during that stretch.
The @cavs last 10 games (10-0):
W 115-105 (+10) vs. WAS
W 130-101 (+29) at BKN
W 124-101 (+23) vs. MIL
W 126-99 (+27) vs. PHI
W 124-113 (+11) vs. UTA
W 149-135 (+14) at DEN
W 113-95 (+18) at GSW
W 122-110 (+12) at LAL
W 134-122 (+12) at DAL
W 115-105 (+10) vs. CHA https://t.co/Tp303YaHZT— Cavs Notes (@CavsNotes) January 6, 2025
Notably, the Cavaliers have won those games by an average of 16.6 points, and only two of their wins have come by exactly ten points.
This team had never done this before, which is a lot to say for an organization with LeBron James leading the way for two stints.
The Cavs will also want to surpass the LeBron James teams by replicating their success in the ultimate stage, but they still have a long way to go before that.
We’re almost at the midpoint of the season, and the Cavs continue to have the best record in the league at 31-4.
Their toughest matchup yet will take place on Wednesday.
They will face the Oklahoma City Thunder in a matchup that could be a preview of the NBA Finals.
As a result, losing that game won’t do much to help the narrative around this team being a bit of a fluke.
