Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers had a season to remember in 2024-25.
Although his team wasn’t able to go all the way to the Finals like they had hoped, Mobley was still great from the very beginning to the end of the campaign.
Writing for Cleveland.com, Chris Fedor summed up how special Mobley was this season and the defensive power that he brought.
“Viewed as one of the league’s most impactful and versatile defenders, Mobley was the only player to compile at least 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 60 steals and 100 blocks during the 2024-25 season. He ranked fifth in the NBA in blocks per game (1.6) and contested shots (10.4 average). Mobley already ranks eighth in Cavaliers history in total blocks (419),” Fedor wrote.
The numbers prove that Mobley is one of the most intimidating and fearsome defenders in the entire NBA, which is why he was named Defensive Player of the Year for the first time in his career.
Mobley has reached the level that many fans have envisioned for years, and they are excited to see what he can do next.
If Mobley is doing so well, why has his name been attached to trade rumors recently?
There have been whispers of the Cavaliers possibly moving Mobley, especially if they really do have a chance of acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks.
But Mobley has been sensational, so why would the Cavaliers even contemplate moving him?
Perhaps it is because this great season he just had makes him one of the most wanted big men in the league, and he could fetch them a lot in a trade.
However, Mobley will continue to do a lot for the Cavaliers as long as he remains in Cleveland.
