The Cleveland Cavaliers are not the team they want to be.
Obviously, they have a ton of talent on the roster, but they just got pushed out of the playoffs in the second round, a disappointing end to an incredible season.
So, what can they do to change things in 2025-26?
Speaking on the “Dan Patrick Show,” Nick Wright proposed a huge trade that would get a lot of people talking.
He said the Cavaliers could pursue LeBron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers superstar might consider going back home for the final stretch of his career.
“Year 23, go back home, win a title with Cleveland, or at least make another Finals is something for LeBron James,” Wright said. “When [the Cavs] just keep getting clocked in Round 2, it’s like, ‘Oh, who’s your starting three? Max Strus? I think I’m an upgrade. I think I would help out a little there.’ Now, the real question there is, what are the Cavs going to trade to get Bronny?”
.@GetNickWright floats the idea of the #Cavs trading for LeBron to help them get over the hump.

Wright isn’t the only one who has talked about this scenario.
For many Cavaliers fans, it would be a dream come true.
James would come back to Cleveland, perhaps help the team win a title, and be hailed as a hero again at the end of his time in the NBA.
It would certainly create a lot of headlines and generate a ton of buzz, but is it going to happen?
In all likelihood, this has very little chance of occurring.
The Cavaliers may not have gone as far as they wished this year, but they still believe in the team they have.
They do not want to give up nearly all of their assets for anyone, even someone as special as James.
Plus, James has made it clear that he’d like to end his career in Los Angeles with his family and friends.
But just because this isn’t likely doesn’t mean people will stop daydreaming about it.
