The Cleveland Cavaliers worked hard to get better during the offseason.
They don’t want a repeat of last year when the regular season was great and the postseason most definitely was not.
One of these additions has earned a very special, impressive, and surprising honor.
On Twitter, StatMuse pointed out that Georges Niang has the most wins in the 2020s.
When compiling the list of most wins by decade, Bill Russell had the most in the 1960s, Paul Silas had the most in the 70s, while Michael Cooper, Karl Malone and Scottie Pippen, and Tim Duncan claimed the 80s, 90s, and 00s.
While LeBron James was the king of the 2010s, it’s Niang who has been a part of the most victories in the 2020s.
Will he continue this trend with the Cavaliers?
Most wins by decade:
60s — Bill Russell
70s — Paul Silas
80s — Michael Cooper
90s — Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen
00s — Tim Duncan
10s — LeBron James
20s — Georges Niang pic.twitter.com/apKXV0kb9V— StatMuse (@statmuse) October 11, 2023
During his seven years in the league, Niang has suited up for a number of teams.
He got his start with the Indiana Pacers but wasn’t there for long.
Instead, it was during his time with the Utah Jazz that Niang really started to get noticed – and started to get wins too.
He then spent two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before being signed by the Cavaliers this summer.
During his NBA tenure, Niang has been a reliable bench player and has acquired an average of 8.2 points and 2.4 rebounds.
He might not be the most important player on the Cavaliers’ roster.
But he will deepen the bench and allow J.B. Bickerstaff to give more rest to his starting crew.
Plus, Niang will come with a lot of knowledge, as well as a relationship with Donovan Mitchell, who played with him in Utah.
Niang has played for several winning teams so far.
Now he wants to help the Cavaliers find a lot of victories.
