The Cleveland Cavaliers have found their strength in numbers.
Donovan Mitchell knows what it’s like to do all the heavy lifting himself, and he also knows that, as much as that helps his numbers, it rarely translates into winning when it matters the most.
That’s why he wants to ensure that everybody is on the same page to get the job done this time around.
According to his coach, Kenny Atkinson, Mitchell has embraced a major leadership role in the locker room.
Notably, he’s reportedly taken it upon himself to make sure Evan Mobley takes his game to a whole new level.
āHeās [Donovan Mitchell] kindāve the Evan whisperer and the coach whisperer – Heās a step ahead. He helps me. I know he helps Evan – Itās important when your leader isnāt just thinking about himself,” he said.

Mobley is this team’s X-Factor.
He was touted as the second coming of Chris Bosh or a Kevin Garnett 2.0.
He was more than capable of making a huge impact on defense and looked to have the potential to develop an offensive touch from mid and long-range.
That wasn’t the case until this season.
As good as he had been on defense, Mobley had been somewhat timid and inefficient as a scorer, but he’s taken pride in his scoring this time.
If Mobley expands his range, the Cavaliers’ offense looks entirely different.
That allows Jarrett Allen to do his thing above the rim, all while opposing defenses must stay honest and defend their speedy guards on the perimeter.
Everyone recognized Mobley’s offensive skills, but a leap in his performance could make the team unstoppable.
