The Cleveland Cavaliers are undefeated no more.
Kenny Atkinson’s team had one of the greatest runs in NBA history to start the season.
At 15 consecutive wins, they finished second behind only the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors and their 24 triumphs.
This was a disappointing end to this impressive streak, especially considering how close they were to taking down the Boston Celtics.
When asked about the game, Coach Atkinson admitted that his team still needed to improve.
Atkinson took the blame for not having his guys ready for this game and for not getting Evan Mobley more involved early on.
He also talked about how Darius Garland, who has been spectacular this season, didn’t get it going vs. Boston:
“We have a lot to store in the bank—- A lot of stuff we can improve on. I could’ve been better prepared on both ends of the ball. Credit to them, we’ll have another shot at them soon—- That’s a part of the strategy missed on my part,” Atkinson admitted.

Ultimately, as great as they’ve been, you can’t expect to win every game; that’s just not realistic.
You have to compete as if you’re going to win every game, but hoping to go 82-0 sets you up for disappointment.
The Cavaliers continue to have the best record in the Eastern Conference – and the entire league.
They won’t have much time to lick their wounds and get back on track, as they’ll face the New Orleans Pelicans immediately.
To begin this season, they’ve had one of the busiest schedules in the entire league, and it’ll be interesting to see how Atkinson manages the players’ minutes in the second leg of a back-to-back.
