The Cleveland Cavaliers recently got some bad news about big man Jarrett Allen but things seem to be moving in the right direction.
Allen will be out for at least two weeks due to a bone bruise in his left ankle, meaning he has a good chance of missing the start of the season.
But even though he’s not ready to play in a game right now, Allen is still working hard.
A video shared by Evan Dammarell on Twitter showed Allen on the practice court, putting up shots with assistant coach Luke Walton.

Allen isn’t moving around much in the video but his shooting form looks strong and he seems to be in good spirits too.
All of this is reason to believe that he really will be ready to return to the team as soon as possible.
The Cavaliers will definitely miss Allen during his absence.
He averaged 14.3 points and 9.8 rebounds last season and was a pivotal part of the team’s lineup.
Without him, Evan Mobley will work hard to fill the void left by Allen and carry the team’s frontcourt.
This might actually be a blessing in disguise for Mobley and could grant him even more experience with leadership and decision-making.
That means that when Allen comes back, the Cavaliers could still be in great shape.
Although the team is sad to lose Allen, they are relieved that this injury is coming at the start of the season and not at the end.
They still have a very big chance of being one of the best teams in the East.
