Not so long ago, scouts hoped that Isaac Okoro would become one of the best two-way players in the NBA.
The years went by, and that was never the case.
The young man out of Auburn excelled on the defensive end of the floor, but his offense never truly seemed to catch up.
That was finally starting to change this season.
Under Kenny Atkinson’s tutelage, Okoro’s shot was finally falling, and while he wasn’t a featured guy on offense, he was shooting the ball at a 39% clip from beyond the arc.
That’s why Cavs insider Chris Fedor is worried about what he’s watching right now.
Following the team’s win over the New York Knicks, Fedor pointed out that Okoro’s shooting mechanics have been way off since he returned from his shoulder injury.
#Cavs Isaac Okoro's shooting form is still a little off since coming back from his shoulder injury. He seems to be pushing the ball forward as opposed to raising up and getting the proper arc. Shoulder injuries can be tough on mechanics.

He pointed out that shoulder injuries can often have a ripple effect and hurt a player’s shooting mechanics.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t that much to work with to begin with.
The Cavaliers need Okoro out there.
He’s a very savvy and physical backcourt stopper, and while he might struggle at times against bigger opposition, he’s usually a very good defender on the perimeter.
Then again, this is a make-or-break league, and teams simply cannot afford to have someone who can’t shoot on the floor.
You can’t afford to go 4-on-5 on offense in this day and age.
Hopefully, Okoro will revert back to what worked for him earlier in the season, but it will be easier said than done.
