The Cleveland Cavaliers are going through their worst stretch of the season right now.
Fortunately, they waited until after they clinched their postseason berth to drop four games in a row.
Unfortunately, that’s not the way you want to make the playoffs.
When asked about that, former NBA player Daniel Gibson claimed the players needed to create their own energy at this point in the season.
Talking on the “Full Court Cleveland” show, Gibson referred to all the stories about Michael Jordan when he claimed that someone on the other team had said something about him just so he could be more motivated and bring an additional punch to the game.

We’ve reached a point in the season when injuries and tired legs can derail a promising campaign.
The Cavs are at full strength, but they’ve gone through the motions at times during this stretch.
They’ve let big leads slip, and they’ve also gotten off to some slow starts.
Also, with the team already making the playoffs, perhaps some players took their foot off the gas.
It’s valid to make health the top priority and maybe not go as hard as you went earlier in the season.
Then again, bad habits tend to snowball, maybe even faster and more notoriously than good habits.
You always want to make the playoffs riding some good momentum, and even though they’ve been either the best or second-best team in the league for most of the season, they still need to prove themselves when it matters the most.
