The Cleveland Cavaliers are walking on the clouds right now.
Notably, it doesn’t seem to be much of a coincidence to see the team having its best season in years just when Evan Mobley breaks out.
The USC product was an All-Star and has been one of the most improved players in the league this season.
Fortunately for the team, he’s not even close to being satisfied.
When asked who will be the best player in the NBA five years from now, Mobley claimed that it would probably be either him or Victor Wembanyama.

That’s the kind of confidence you want to see from your best players, and that’s not something he would’ve said one or two years ago.
Kenny Atkinson’s arrival has instilled plenty of confidence in Mobley, and you can tell that on the court.
Opponents can no longer challenge him to go left, and he’s not going to back down from any physical defender when he’s attacking the rim.
Scouts and experts always deemed Mobley as the team’s X-Factor and potential catalyst, and he’s proven them right this season.
The Cavs gave him a huge vote of confidence by signing him to a very lucrative contract extension, even though he hadn’t shown more than glimpses of his offensive potential.
This year, he’s been the same dominant and versatile defensive player he was in the past, and he’s also added a new dimension to his offense.
He’ll be 28 and in his physical prime five years from now, and it’ll be interesting to see if this take aged well.
