Throughout franchise history, the Cleveland Cavaliers have had some very talented players.
Some, however, haven’t been on the team long enough to make a long-lasting impact, or they weren’t in their prime when they played there.
Donovan Mitchell hasn’t been on the team for long, but he’s already taking down some of the best players in franchise history in the all-time rankings.
That happened again on Monday night when he scored 36 points against the Chicago Bulls.
As pointed out by CavsMuse on X, that was his 55th game with at least 30 points since joining the team.
He has already passed Kyrie Irving for the third-most instances in franchise history.

Needless to say, Irving still has bragging rights over him, as he helped the team win a championship and knocked down the greatest shot in franchise history – and one of the most iconic shots in the history of the NBA Finals.
But even if he still has a long way to go, Mitchell can end up as one of the best players to lace them up for the Cleveland Cavaliers organization.
Contrary to what most talking heads claimed, Mitchell chose to stay in Ohio and sign a contract extension.
Barring a major turn of events, he will be in Cleveland long enough to take down plenty of records, even some owned by LeBron James.
Hopefully, he won’t have to do all the heavy lifting for this team in the future.
