The Cleveland Cavaliers need as much help as they can get right now.
It seems like the boat is sinking, and they chose the absolute worst time to hit a wall.
At least Darius Garland has been solid lately, but that still hasn’t been enough.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, Garland just reached an important milestone in the loss to the Phoenix Suns.
He scored his 7,000th career point.

Garland has an opportunity to go down as one of the best players in franchise history once it’s all said and done.
Even so, it seems like he won’t get the recognition he deserves until he has a signature moment in the playoffs.
He has been mostly missing in action in the postseason for most of his career, and even though he’s been one of the best players in the clutch this year, the narrative around him is that he’s not a high-character player who can put a team on his shoulders.
With Donovan Mitchell struggling so mightly, he might have to do so at this moment.
Garland finished the loss to the Phoenix Suns with just 18 points on 8-of-16 from the floor.
Those numbers are decent, but if the Cavs are going to make a deep run this season, they need more than decent.
Garland has shown glimpses of great play in the past, and the talent is most definitely there.
Now, it’s all about proving that he can be an alpha scorer and the player this team needs to get over the hump.
