The Cleveland Cavaliers just had one of the most dominant performances in NBA history.
They took down the Miami Heat by 55 points, and they led by as many as 61 at one point.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, that was a playoff record for points in a game (138), taking down their previous mark of 137 in an NBA Finals game vs. the Golden State Warriors back in 2017.
The @cavs also set a franchise playoff record for points in a game with 138 tonight.
The previous team playoff mark was 137 PTS vs. Golden State on June 9, 2017.#LetEmKnow

If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Cavaliers also established a new NBA record for the largest point differential in any playoff series in NBA history (+122).
The Heat threatened to make things interesting at one point in Game 2, but to no avail.
They were overmatched from start to finish, and the Cavs were in control from start to finish.
The Cavs will now sit back and get some well-deserved rest while the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks battle out in their own seven-game series.
Rick Carlisle’s team is up 3-1, and with Damian Lillard out for the season with a torn Achilles, it’s hard to believe the Bucks will be able to come back or even extend this series a little further.
As for the Cavs, Darius Garland has missed the past couple of games with a toe injury he sustained late in the season.
Of course, it also feels like if the Cavs had actually needed him, he would’ve been able to play through it, as coach Kenny Atkinson didn’t sound too worried about it.
Then again, it will be a situation to keep a close eye on nonetheless.
