The Cleveland Cavaliers have played with a chip on their shoulders throughout the 2023-24 NBA season.
It has helped the organization establish itself as one of the best teams in not only the Eastern Conference but the entire league.
Donovan Mitchell has undoubtedly been the primary superstar of the team, but there are many players who have had a crucial role in the success of the franchise this season.
Among them is none other than rookie Craig Porter Jr.
Porter was signed by the Cavaliers in a two-way deal, but the 23-year-old has received nothing but praise from the team.
As a result, Porter’s two-way contract has been converted to a standard four-year deal in a matter of a few months, as revealed via Spencer Davies on Twitter.
“Cavs rookie Craig Porter Jr. has had his two-way contract converted to a standard four-year deal,” Davies reported.

Davies revealed that the news was broken to him by Porter’s agent, Ryan Straining of Always On.
While many players have earned their way to a standard deal in the league, achieving that in a matter of a few months as a rookie is an applaudable achievement.
It’s obvious that the Cavaliers see a lot of potential in the guard, and he will most likely remain a key part of head coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s plans in the future.
So far, Porter has played 32 games for the Cavaliers, where he has started five times and averaged 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game for the team.
