The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to dominate.
Kenny Atkinson’s team bounced back from their toughest loss of the season.
And just like great teams do, they showed a short memory and took care of business as soon as they hit the court again.
Notably, this win came thanks to a massive effort from their two best players.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X (via Elias Sports), it was just the first time in franchise history that two Cavs players finished a game with at least 29 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four three-pointers in the same game.
Tonight was the 1st time in franchise history that two @cavs players had at least 29 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST and 4 3FG in the same game.@spidadmitchell:

4 3FG@dariusgarland22:
29 PTS
5 REB
6 AST
5 3FG— Cavs Notes (@CavsNotes) January 19, 2025
Donovan Mitchell had 36 points, eight boards, seven assists, and four triples in the win.
On the other hand, Darius Garland chipped in with 29 points, five rebounds, six assists, and five triples in the win.
Needless to say, the Cavs are a much more dangerous team when their two best players are this aggressive.
Of course, they haven’t needed them to do all the heavy lifting night in and night out, which speaks volumes about their depth and cohesion.
But it’s nice to see that they will show up and lead the team as the best players do when needed.
The Cavs went 2-1 on the road trip, and they still have the best record in the league.
As disheartening as it was to see them struggle so much vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, good teams always find a way to bounce back and get back on track in no time at all.
