The Cleveland Cavaliers are still on top of the world.
While they no longer have the best record in the league, they continue to be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.
Their win over the Los Angeles Clippers gave them their 60th triumph of the season, and they still have an opportunity to finish the season with the best record in franchise history.
As pointed out by Cavs Notes on X, this is just the third time that the Cleveland Cavaliers have won at least 60 games in one season.
They did so in 2008-09 when they won 66 games, and then again in 2009-10 when they won 61.
With today’s 127-122 win over the Clippers, the @cavs now have 60 regular season wins for the 3rd time in franchise history (66 in 2008-09 and 61 in 2009-10).#LetEmKnow

There were some legitimate reasons for concern over the past couple of weeks.
The Cavs dropped four games in a row for the first time all season, and you never want to reach the playoffs in a slump.
That’s why it’s nice to see them bounce back and take care of business against other playoff-bound teams like the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Cavs have a tough time convincing pundits and fans that they are legitimate championship contenders, and watching them fall flat right before the start of the playoffs doesn’t do much to help their case.
Even so, winning 60+ games hasn’t necessarily led to success for this organization.
Both times they reached that mark, they didn’t make it to the NBA Finals.
Hopefully, things will be different this time, and they will be able to go all the way for the first time in almost a decade.
