The Cleveland Cavaliers aren’t done making moves.
They had an explosive scorer in their G-League affiliate, and they want to give him a chance to do his thing in the big leagues now.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, they just signed undrafted rookie forward Nae’Qwan Tomlin to a ten-day contract.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a 10-day contract with Nae'Qwan Tomlin, league sources told @hoopshype. Tomlin has averaged 24.6 points on 55.4% shooting and 38.7% from 3-point range, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks in his last five games for the Cleveland Charge pic.twitter.com/9wwkFUvjus

The Cavs needed to have at least 14 players signed to standard contracts by Thursday, and Tomlin had certainly turned plenty of heads.
As pointed out by Scotto on X, he averaged 24.6 points on 55.4% shooting and 38.7% from 3-point range, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks in his last five games for the Cleveland Charge.
The 6-foot-10 rookie went undrafted out of Memphis, and he signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Cavs shortly after.
The Cavs will have five games during Tomlin’s ten-day pact with the organization, and it will be interesting to see whether coach Kenny Atkinson gives him a chance to prove his worth during that span.
Once his contract expires, the team could carry fewer than 14 players on standard contracts for up to two more weeks before having to add another player for the remainder of the campaign.
Teams aren’t allowed to have 13 or fewer players for more than 28 total days.
That opens up the door for Tomlin, who will make $66,503 on his 10-day contract, to get himself another look and maybe even finish the campaign with the No. 1 team in the Association.
