Just a few months ago, Malik Beasley was seen as one of the most exciting free agents available in the NBA.
But then came a very troubling federal investigation that threw all of that out the window.
Now that the investigation is over and Beasley won’t be charged, he has become a coveted free agent again.
According to Michael Scotto, the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers have “checked in” on Beasley.
Both the Knicks and Cavs have minimum deals that they can offer Beasley, who doesn’t have many options left.

Beasley was phenomenal for the Detroit Pistons last season, averaging 16.3 points off the bench and shooting 41.6 percent from beyond the three-point line.
He was going to be a name to watch in the summer, but then news broke of an investigation into Beasley due to gambling.
That news put his future in doubt and made him downright radioactive to teams throughout the league.
But the US Attorney’s investigation is over, and Beasley won’t be charged with anything.
That’s great news for the star, but teams all over the NBA have filled their rosters, and there aren’t many still looking for help.
The Knicks or Cavs might be Beasley’s only choices, and he may have to sign a one-year, minimum contract and then play his way into a bigger deal next summer.
This summer has been a huge headache for Beasley, and he is ready to put it behind him.
Will he do that with the Knicks, the Cavs, or another team?
