No one would argue that the Cleveland Cavaliers have been perfect this season.
With a 10-9 record and the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, the Cavaliers have a way to go, although they have shown some signs of greatness.
Even with their problems, the Cavaliers currently maintain a rather impressive record.
According to Cavs Notes, the Cavaliers have the best road record in the East right now, with five wins and three losses.
That has them tied with the Orlando Magic and ahead of the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks, who all hold a 6-4 record.
Best Road Records in the Eastern Conference this season:
1t. CLEVELAND: .625 (5-3)
1t. Orlando: .625 (5-3)
3t. Atlanta: .600 (6-4)
3t. Boston: .600 (6-4)
3t. New York: .600 (6-4)
6. Philadelphia: .556 (5-4)#LetEmKnow @cavs— Cavs Notes (@CavsNotes) December 2, 2023
When you look at their 2023-24 schedule, you see that Cleveland has scored some noteworthy wins on the road.
They have taken down the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors, and Philadelphia 76ers in their respective areas, which is no small feat.
But that doesn’t erase the problems that they have and the tough losses they have experienced.
Their latest was probably their worst yet: the Cavaliers were defeated by the Portland Trail Blazers 103-95 at home on Thursday night.
Fans and players were dismayed to see the Cavaliers collapse to a team that is statistically much worse than them.
So even with this strong road record, it’s very clear that Cleveland is far from flawless.
Ultimately, the road record doesn’t matter; it’s the whole record that counts.
But this is a promising sign that shows the Cavaliers can defeat tough opponents on their home courts, which would be very meaningful in the playoffs.
Now it’s just time to see if the Cavaliers can get that far.
