The Cleveland Cavaliers won’t have a lot of money to spend on free agents this offseason.
With that in mind, they will have a tough time finding quality veterans who can contribute on a budget.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see them reportedly set their sights on point guard Malcolm Brogdon.
According to NBA Trade Report, the Cavs, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers are keeping tabs on the former Rookie of the Year, who’s likely to sign a veteran-minimum deal.

Brogdon has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards in his nine-year career.
However, injuries have derailed him, and he’s played for four teams in as many seasons.
He was limited to 24 games with the Wizards last season, and though some of that was due to the fact they were tanking and there was no need to risk further injury, it’s something to keep an eye on.
He has played a combined 63 games over the past two seasons, and he’s played in more than 60 games just three times.
But from a pure basketball perspective, he checks every box for the Cavs.
He’s an intelligent player who can play on and off the ball.
He can start or lead the second unit, and his length and basketball IQ help him be a switchable and solid three-position defender.
Brogdon averaged 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season, and if he stays healthy, he would be a solid pickup for the Cavs.
