The Cleveland Cavaliers are making it rain.
Kenny Atkinson’s team has taken things up a notch from beyond the arc this season, taking and making more three-pointers as the year passes.
NBA analyst Keith Smith on X shows that the Cavaliers currently lead the league in three-point percentage (40.7%).
More impressively, they’ve made more threes per game with each passing month, from 36.0 in October to 38.3 in November and 44.2 in December.
The Cleveland Cavaliers lead the NBA in three-point shooting at 40.7% per game. They're also steadily increasing their three-point attempts per game:

🏀November: 38.3
🏀December: 44.2— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) January 1, 2025
The Cavaliers have several reliable three-point shooters on the roster right now.
Even Evan Mobley, who hadn’t been much of a floor-spacer in the past, is now taking and making more three-pointers.
Kenny Atkinson was heavily involved in the Golden State Warriors’ past offensive success, and he has incorporated those same offensive fundamentals into Cleveland now.
While the team hasn’t been able to practice as often as he wanted, he’s made a habit of cutting with a purpose.
The ball constantly finds the open man, and all players move around the court to ensure the offense isn’t stagnant and that there’s always someone open.
The Cavs have done a great job of keeping everybody involved, and, more importantly, the offense has often been quick to get into a rhythm as everybody gets touches.
It’s not easy to beat a team that defends well and shoots the ball well, so the Cavaliers’ success this season is not surprising.
