LeBron James will go down as the greatest player in Cleveland Cavaliers history.
It would take a lot for anybody to take that distinction away from him.
That’s why, even though he left the team twice, fans will always have a special place for him in their hearts.
Nevertheless, as much as they would love to watch him ride into the sunset with the Cavaliers, that might not be the case, or at least not this season.
Despite rumors about James’ potential desire to be traded, and despite his obvious ties to Cleveland, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst just doesn’t see another reunion happening.
Windhorst said that though it isn’t impossible, the Cavs just don’t have the assets to convince the Lakers to trade him to them.
“If the Lakers are trading LeBron James, they’re going to want really good stuff for him,” Windhorst said, via ESPN Cleveland. “With a straight face, I can’t say that it’s impossible. But you have to understand, they can’t feasibly trade for him.”

It’s worth noting that James has a no-trade clause in his contract, so, he would get to determine his next destination.
He could’ve signed with the Cavaliers as a free agent if he wanted to, yet he chose to pick up his player option with the Lakers instead.
James is arguably the most powerful player in the league, and he’s always gotten his way.
If he wanted to head back home, he would’ve found a way to make that happen, whether it was with a sign-and-trade or as a free agent, as it’s not like money should be the deciding factor in his career at this point.
