The Cleveland Cavaliers have a few needs to address at the trade deadline.
Of course, they’re not a perfect team, even if they have the best record in the Association.
Perhaps their most glaring issue is the lack of size and defense at the wings.
That’s why they’ve reportedly set their sights on Cam Johnson.
The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly asking for either two first-round picks or the equivalent for the former lottery pick, but Cavs analyst Evan Dammarell believes they should avoid him.
If you're a team like the #Cavs, do you want to mortgage what little is left of your future asset-wise by sending out a 2031 draft pick and possibly rocking the boat chemistry-wise for Cam Johnson? https://t.co/2ALnPScQ36

Dammarell questioned whether the team would want to jeopardize their few future assets and shake up the locker room by making such an addition.
Those are two legitimate concerns.
There were several rumors about the Cavs’ locker room last season.
Some stated that the players were angry at Jarrett Allen for not wanting to play through injury in the playoffs or Darius Garland looking to leave.
The Cavs are now playing as a unit, and they’ve clearly developed some strong rapport on and off the court.
It’s hard to even think about disrupting that by adding an outsider.
And while Johnson has never been known for being a demanding or high-maintenance guy, some guys losing minutes could alter everything.
Even if that weren’t the case, the Cavs are in a tough spot with their future selections in the NBA Draft.
And while the team isn’t particularly old and should be good for years to come, you never want to jeopardize your future.
