The Cleveland Cavaliers finished the 2022-23 NBA season as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, albeit not playing well in the 2023 playoffs.
Evidently, the Cavaliers were expected to pick things up right from where they left off.
Unfortunately, the 2023-24 NBA season hasn’t been kind to the Cavaliers in terms of having their key players stay fit for the season.
Despite players like Darius Garland and Evan Mobley missing extended periods of time due to injuries, the Cavaliers have managed to stay in contention for a guaranteed place in the 2024 playoffs.
Keeping that in mind, renowned NBA analyst Brian Windhorts praised the team for their efforts this season via ESPN Cleveland on Twitter.
“They are morphing in the middle of the season, which is not easy to do,” Windhorst said.

Windhorst mentioned that the Cavaliers are essentially morphing in the middle of the season to ensure that the team remains successful even without some key players.
The ESPN analyst agreed that it’s not an easy task by any means, and he gave the Cavaliers their flowers for managing to do that so far in the 2023-24 NBA season.
In the light of missing key members of the roster, many young players, such as Sam Merrill and Craig Porter, have stepped up for the occasion for the team.
As a result, the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 21-15 record this season.
Moreover, every team from the fourth seed to the eighth seed shares the same record as of now.
With that being said, if the Cavaliers can go on a small winning streak, they have a shot to enter the top four in the East.
