It took them almost half a season, but the Cleveland Cavaliers finally caught the nation’s eye.
Even though the team has been atop the Eastern Conference throughout the season, some fans have been less than impressed with it.
Some fans have called them fluky or credited their seemingly easier schedule for their strong start to the season.
Now, after facing the Oklahoma City Thunder last week, Sam Amico believes that’s finally changed.
On the “Full Court Cleveland” podcast, Amico stated that the home win over the Oklahoma City Thunder finally made people realize that this team was for real.
Despite the loss last night, the Cavs are starting to get the attention that they deserve. #LetEmKnow

Granted, they didn’t do the best job of keeping that image by getting blown out on the road in the rematch, and they’ve lost two of their last four games, but still.
That was just their first loss to a Western Conference team all season, and we’ve almost reached the midpoint of the campaign.
The Cavs are having their best season in franchise history, which has never been done before, not even during any of LeBron James’ stints with the organization.
Small-market teams rarely get the recognition they deserve, especially if they don’t have a top-five player on their rosters.
That’s why the league has to do a better job of marketing teams that play the right way, regardless of where they play.
If more people had watched Kenny Atkinson’s team play this season, they would’ve known how great a team they were long ago.
