The Cleveland Cavaliers had a commanding win over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA playoffs on Sunday.
There were multiple stars who helped achieve victory, but it was Ty Jerome’s performance that is getting the most attention.
Jerome posted 28 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the win.
According to Cavs Notes, Jerome is now just the third player in Cavaliers history to score 28+ points in his playoff debut, joining only LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.
That might be the best company possible for a new Cavaliers player and Jerome should be really proud of what he’s done.

Jerome came off the bench in the game, making his statline even more remarkable.
Of course, he has been playing great all season, averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 51.6 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from the three-point line.
He got his NBA start in 2019-20 when he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers but spent his rookie season with the Phoenix Suns.
After that, it was off to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.
This is his second season in Cleveland, although he only played two games with the team last year.
He has made such an impact this season that he is in the running for Sixth Man of the Year and was officially announced as a candidate on Sunday.
Even if he doesn’t win Sixth Man, Jerome has shown that he’s one of the most important bench players in the league.
He didn’t buckle under the pressure of appearing in the postseason for the first time and played even better under the bright lights of Game 1.
So, can he keep it up in Game 2 and beyond?
