The Cleveland Cavaliers did not have a good Friday night, but Evan Mobley still made history as his team was taken down by the Phoenix Suns.
According to Cavs Notes, Mobley became the eighth player in Cavaliers history to reach 400 career blocks.
On top of that, he also surpassed Anderson Varejao for eighth place on the team’s all-time block list.
Mobley is having a banner season and has become one of the most dominant and fierce defensive players in the league this year.

During Friday’s game, Mobley posted 16 points and 12 rebounds, on top of five assists, one steal, and two blocks.
For the season, Mobley is averaging 18.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks.
This is Mobley’s fourth season in the league and clearly his best yet.
When he first joined the Cavaliers, he was seen as one of the best young rookies in the NBA and actually came in second place for that season’s Rookie of the Year.
Following that, some people said that he didn’t evolve his game and there were questions about what was ahead for him.
Something has gotten into him this year and he is playing a lot better.
New head coach Kenny Atkinson has obviously figured out how to use Mobley better and the player has stepped up.
He is now one of the most consistent and reliable players on the roster.
The Cavaliers are currently going through a rough patch and there are some concerns.
But Mobley is still hugely consequential and helping his Cavaliers in a big way, even if they have dropped four in a row.
