The Cleveland Cavaliers started the season with a 15-0 record and had a 16-game winning streak heading into their Sunday night matchup with the Orlando Magic.
While they fought valiantly, the Magic ended up on top, putting an end to the longest winning streak in Cavaliers history.
Fans were riding the wave of this streak, wondering when it was going to end, which happened against a formidable opponent.
Having a streak like this can be fun for players, but it also comes with a lot of pressure to keep the momentum going.
De’Andre Hunter was asked about the streak ending after the game, and had some level-headed thoughts about the situation, per Camryn Justice on X.
“Not going to win every game. The streak was cool, but back to reality. Looking so start another,” Hunter said.
The #Cavs streak is over but as De'Andre Hunter said:

Hunter understands that at the end of the day, a record-breaking streak isn’t what the Cavaliers’ season will be remembered by.
Given how well they’ve performed all season, the Cavaliers have their eyes set on a championship, and the job isn’t nearly over yet.
They have a lot of work to do if they want to finish the regular season strong and make a deep playoff run.
The Eastern Conference is full of fantastic teams, and they’ll have to keep their wits about them if they want to make it back to the NBA Finals.
Hunter has been a valuable piece for the Cavaliers during this unexpectedly strong season, and he’ll look to keep providing that value until the end of the regular season and hopefully in their deep postseason run.
