The Cleveland Cavaliers are having their best season in almost a decade.
That’s why it was only right that they honored one of their main players from their golden years.
The Cavs had a tribute video for Kevin Love in his return to Ohio, and he also got a standing ovation from the crowd.
When asked about that, Max Strus, who used to play with Love in Miami as well, praised this class act and claimed that it was only fitting that the fans and the organization uplifted someone who helped them win an NBA championship (via Camryn Justice):
“That’s how it should be. When you win a championship in a city, you should be loved,” he said.
The #Cavs reflected on Kevin Love getting a tribute video and a standing ovation from fans, as well as Richard Jefferson and Tristan Thompson getting special moments during the game.

Love’s career took a big turn when he made it to the Cavs.
He was used to being a team’s primary scorer, but that didn’t always lead to success.
Even so, it’s not easy for a player like him to embrace a lesser role and team up with other stars to get the job done.
Love’s tenure with the Cavs wasn’t always smooth sailing, and there were rumors about him not wanting to be there at times.
Nevertheless, the team would’ve never gotten to the heights they got to if he hadn’t bought in.
