The NBA is exhausting all avenues to make the All-Star Game relevant again.
Unfortunately, they might be doing the opposite.
The new format was supposed to revive competition, but that was hardly the case.
Several players were critical of this new format, including Cleveland Cavaliers star PG Darius Garland.
When asked his thoughts about the format, Garland urged the NBA to go back to two teams.

Then again, the players are the only ones who should be held accountable for this.
The league should not have to think of new ways to make the game relevant.
The fans want to watch the players play hard and act like they care.
Otherwise, they should get rid of the event as a whole.
The league is facing some serious backlash right now, and this has been a common trend over the past five or six years.
The All-Star Game is becoming less interesting and competitive than it used to be.
We’ve never had this much talent in the league, yet the game is far less entertaining.
Also, having stars like Anthony Edwards sit out or LeBron James arrive late and withdraw from the game just hours before it took place doesn’t help their case.
The stars don’t want to participate in the Slam Dunk contest anymore, which was perhaps the most appealing event of the weekend.
The league needs to be held accountable, but the players are to blame for this.
