Even though the Sacramento Kings have looked much better since they fired Mike Brown, that doesn’t mean things are going well in Northern California.
A report by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports points out that De’Aaron Fox’s reluctance to sign a contract extension has forced their hand to consider trading him.
This could be the beginning of their end, indicating that it might result in more players changing teams.
With that in mind, Cavs analyst Evan Dammarell claimed that if the Kings were to have a panic sale, the Cavs should definitely reach out to try and get Trey Lyles.
If the Kings are having a fire sale I hope Cleveland reaches out wrt Trey Lyles https://t.co/tvR91ncm7n

That’s not a bad idea at all.
While he may not be a star, Lyles is a seasoned veteran who embraces his role and can provide solid minutes off the bench for any team.
He plays strong defense against both forward spots and can even hold his own against bigger centers.
He can finish below the rim, has a decent post-game and footwork, and could even knock down the occasional three-pointer if need be.
The Cavs have lacked size at the wings, and Dean Wade’s knee injury has only made that all the more evident and pressing.
Also, Lyles is on a team-friendly deal and wouldn’t require a lot of money or assets to be on the move.
This is nothing but wishful thinking, and there are no indications of Lyles being available or the Cavs being interested in him, but the fit is evident.
