The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost a couple of games over the past week, partly because some of their regulars have been out with injuries.
However, despite their mediocre week, the Cavs still comfortably lead the Eastern Conference at 35-6.
During a Monday press conference, head coach Kenny Atkinson provided updates on Evan Mobley’s calf strain and Isaac Okoro’s shoulder injury.
Atkinson said that Mobley’s calf soreness was now a calf strain and said, “I think it’s going to be day-to-day…At least, that’s what Steve (Spiro, Cavs head athletic trainer) told me. It’s not a bad strain…I don’t think it’s going to be long-term.” while he also added that it’s tougher to put a timetable on Okoro’s injury.

Mobley could be back quite soon, by the sound of it, but Okoro’s injury is a little more worrisome.
Atkinson said there were “a lot of hurdles” to getting Okoro to where the team wants him: fully healthy and back to being the guy who was lighting it up from beyond the arc earlier in the season.
The team has the depth to stomach these absences, and being nearly 30 games over .500 before the All-Star break makes it even less important for the team to rush these guys back from injury.
