The Cleveland Cavaliers are fresh off a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a game this team won’t soon forget.
While the Cavaliers have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season, they aren’t perfect, and games like this can happen.
This loss might have felt like a big deal to Cavaliers fans, but they still hold a healthy lead over the next closest team in the Eastern Conference.
The night ended differently than the Cavaliers might have hoped for, but there was some good to come from this game, as Cavs Notes highlighted on X.
Donovan Mitchell crossed the 700-steal threshold in this game, a marked accomplishment for him at this point in his career.
With his 1st steal of the night, @spidadmitchell recorded his 700th career @NBA steal.#LetEmKnow

He has plenty of time left in the NBA, and 700 steals might just be the beginning for him.
The Cavaliers have enjoyed having Mitchell on their roster after acquiring him from the Utah Jazz, and haven’t looked back since that deal was put in place.
Mitchell might not have played his best brand of basketball in this game, but he at least unlocked a new milestone in his career.
He’ll need to play better for the Cavaliers to have a better chance of beating teams like the Thunder down the stretch, but that’s a problem to worry about for another day.
This team is still out-performing most of their counterparts across the league, and as long as they can sustain that over the next few months, Mitchell and his teammates could be a problem in the postseason.
