The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing so well because every member of the team is completely tuned in, fired up, and ready to play hard.
And while everyone is doing well, some people are doing more than others.
Following Sunday night’s win over the Charlotte Hornets, Cavaliers big man Jarrett Allen spoke about how Max Strus was coaching the team during practices and helped implement the zone defense plans the Cavaliers have been using this season.
According to Evan Dammarell, Allen said:
“Shoutout to Coach Max, I guess.”

This shows that even players who cannot be on the court right now are chipping in and helping the team win.
Strus has been out all season long with an ankle injury but the Cavaliers are hoping he will be back soon.
Last season, his first with the Cavaliers, Strus scored 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
He was the fifth starter for the team and didn’t come off the bench at all after years of being part of the second unit for the Miami Heat.
Strus was a pivotal part of the team last season, celebrated for his strong shooting skills and leadership qualities.
The team obviously misses him right now but the fact they are still doing so well without him proves what a resilient squad this is.
Strus is still helping the team and will hopefully be totally healed and back on the court soon.
Then he will be able to help the Cavaliers in a whole other way.
